Obsidian Beauty Tools Collection : Gua Sha Stone

Obsidian Beauty Tools Collection : Gua Sha Stone

4 minute read

There's another obsidian beauty tool that has been making rounds all over the internet and that is Gua sha stone. Gua sha stone varies significantly from the traditional jade rollers, the tool itself is sculpted with edges and curves that mimic the natural bone structure of the face. But both the facial roller and the gua sha accomplish the same purpose, and that is to boost blood circulation and relieve tissue tension.

Similar to the Obsidian roller, Gua-Sha helps with brightening the complexion, and minimizing the appearance of fine lines and pores while de-puffing the face, as a result of which the face appears a lot more well-sculpted and contoured for a time being. In addition to facial benefits, gua sha is prized for its ability to relieve neck and back tension since its sculpture and optimal pressure allow the tool to be maneuvered into pockets of tension. The only downside to the gua sha tool is that it requires a lot of effort and practice to actually nail the technique before you could reap maximum benefits out of the treatment.

Once you know the right way of using gua sha, it would be practically impossible for you to resist using it almost every day. But during all this, there is one thing that most people do not pay attention to, and that is the tool surface. Daily bacterial build-up and contaminants compromise the gua sha treatment like no other. So, instead of providing your skin with regular cleansing, you are polluting it even more, predisposing it to a dozen of breakouts and inflammation. And all of this subsequently brings us to the next question: How do we clean it?

Cleaning the Gua Sha Stone

First step: wipe the tool with a microfiber towel to remove any debris

Second step: place it in lukewarm water, add a little bit of gentle liquid soap. Let it rest in warm water for about 10 minutes. Gently whirl the tool around in the water to get rid of the soap.

Third step: Wipe the tool with a microfiber towel again and let it air dry.

Annnd, this is how you clean gua sha stones. Easy?

The Power Of Massage

Massaging your face is another essential practice for healthy skin and can also be really relaxing! While being an effective way to counter wrinkles, massaging is a slow process and its results are obvious only if it is practiced regularly for an extended period of time. That said, there is no doubt that massage is highly beneficial for tightening facial tissues, increasing blood flow, stimulating nerves, and thus, boosting collagen production.

Our friends at Forever Beauty have it all figured out when it comes to facial massage. Their personalized tutorials can reverse the signs of aging using makeup and facial yoga. Massage is most effective if the skin is thoroughly cleansed first. Do not forget to remove all traces of makeup, otherwise, particles of dirt will end up blocking the pores of the skin. An effective way to accomplish a fresh face clean is with Dope Skin Cleanser from Kay’s CBD Skincare. Gently scrub away grime from the day with ease while shrinking pores with this CBD facial cleanser.

If your skin is oily, no worries as Dope Skin removes oiliness with a formula that deeply exfoliates as well as controls the amount of oil your body produces. If your skin is dry, use a good moisturizer before massaging it. Kay’s Cosmic Clarity Cream provides a protective barrier of CBD goodness that targets your dry areas to hydrate your skin completely.

Finally, apply Kay’s CBD Facial Serum filled with collagen to give sufficient greasiness to the skin so that the hands and fingers move smoothly on the face. This will provide the slip needed for the beauty tools to glide efficiently over your face while enriching your skin with power-building nutrients aimed to enhance your glow.
